This body of works brings together popular figures, tropes and art historical references to present a hyperbolic representation of femininity. Through subverting well known images, juxtaposing well known figures, and collaging similar elements, I present within each painting a microcosm of the female experience. I hope that seeing these tropes in this cacophonous manner brings awareness to the ridiculousness of gender based stereotypes that are continually reinforced by pop culture, capitalism and excess.
